Spokane, United States – March 18, 2025 – Cyan Worlds, the visionary video game developer behind the iconic classics Myst and its beloved sequel Riven, announces the addition of a new Age to their acclaimed 2020 remake of Myst. Fans can look forward to exploring Rime when the new Age becomes available for the Meta Quest platform as well as Windows and Mac systems this Thursday, March 20th at 10am Pacific, with an update for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game to follow.
This major update containing the addition of Rime is free for existing owners of Cyan’s 2020 from-the-ground-up remake of Myst for Quest, and the 2021 Windows, Mac, and Xbox versions.

Sweeping vistas, beautiful ice structures, and fantastical natural phenomena await new visitors. This breathtaking new Age also houses a detailed laboratory space where bold experiments were made, delving into the mysterious nature of Linking Books themselves. This new version of Rime includes all-new narrative beats, new lore, and new sights to behold.

About Cyan Worlds
Founded by brothers Rand and Robyn Miller in 1987, in 1991 Cyan began work on Myst. The goal: create a new kind of experience that felt more like a place than a game. There would be no dying, no shooting, no starting over, and no inventory – dramatic breaks from “traditional” gaming. Myst was about finding yourself lost in a world, exploring it to gain understanding, and ultimately becoming part of the story. The public response was nothing short of phenomenal.
To date, sales for Myst and its sequel Riven have sold over 15 million copies worldwide. Myst also holds the honor of being the best-selling video game of the 20th century; a record that was not surpassed until 2003.
After five games in the Myst series, Cyan turned its attention to making an exciting new kind of Myst world. Uru allows players to join the adventure of a lifetime in the caverns of D’ni, a neverending world that lets players connect and explore together. Its free online version, Myst Online: Uru Live, spawned a thriving community and is still available to explore for free. More recently, Cyan Worlds has created titles supporting 2D and VR gameplay, including Obduction, Firmament, a remake of Myst, and a remake of Riven.
Cyan Worlds looks forward to releasing games currently in development and revealing new, exciting worlds yet to come. They draw from over three decades of experience telling stories in intriguing and unexpected ways, and continue to seek innovative ways to subvert standard videogame tropes.
