Hi all,

Patch 2.1.0 updates for Myst: Masterpiece Edition, Riven: The Sequel to Myst (aka “Riven (1997)”), and Myst III: Exile are now available to download through Steam, GOG, and the Mac App Store. Each game’s patch brings feature updates, bug fixes, and other improvements for play on modern platforms.

Here are the patch notes:

Global

• Updated ScummVM version used to 2026.3.0.
  • Fixed window size when switching out of fullscreen mode on 3D engines.
  • Allow the user to disable manual resizing of the ScummVM window (using Ctrl+R).
• Updated the source code archive.
• Added left click emulation to the left trigger pull of a gamepad.
• Local settings for window size and other settings are now saved properly to the user’s local configuration file instead of overwriting the file with default settings on each launch.

Mac only

• Updated game version and copyright in plist information.

Steam only

• Updated version of Steamworks included to version 1.65.
  

Myst: Masterpiece Edition

• Fixed popping noise in speech in some game releases (bug in the original).

Riven: The Sequel to Myst (aka “Riven (1997)”)

• Fixed popping noise in speech in some game releases (bug in the original).
• Fixed an issue where the virtual keyboard was appearing at the incorrect time after pressing the ‘B’ button on a controller while in the menu.

Myst III: Exile

• Fixed a regression for the animation of the control wheel at J’nanin’s shore.
• Camera movement is now free after placing a symbol on the pedestal at the watch tower in J’nanin.
• Restored ambient sounds for harmonic frequencies puzzle in Amateria.
• Fixed resetting animations for turntable puzzle in Amateria.
• Fixed synchronization of videos that play consecutively.
• Fixed skipping frames in some looping videos.
• Fixed frame-triggered ambient sounds in scripted movies.
• Various tweaks for displaying subtitles and inventory in widescreen mod.
• Fixed scaling issues for subtitles, draggable items, inventory bar and main menu in widescreen mod.
• (Steam only): Added Steam Input configuration for PS5 that removes left-click emulation from right trigger, as double-presses would sometimes occur unintentionally otherwise.
