What about Apple/MacOS support for these games?
< 1 min read
Apple has always been a part of Cyan’s history. Apple/Mac users are a very important part of the audience for our games. We’ve said it many times: Rand only uses a Mac at home and work.
However, those facts do not always directly correlate to available resources for Mac updates. Mac updates require substantial time and effort to continually maintain or rebuild the games.
On September 18th, 2024, Cyan updated the digital versions on Myst IV, Uru: Complete Chronicles, and Myst V, bringing them (with help from Codeweavers!) into compatibility with Apple’s 64-bit requirements.
Myst IV, Uru: Complete Chronicles*, and Myst V will now run on MacOS 13 and later**, and Windows 10 and later operating systems.
*Uru is supported on 64-bit Intel Macs, but not on Apple Silicon (M-Series) Macs.
**Earlier MacOS and Windows versions may still run the games, but those operating systems are not Officially supported. Launch times can be very long on unsupported platforms.
Support for these games on these operating systems will be provided as long as possible.
Thank you for your patience and continued support!
